Emmelyne had been looking forward to her brother coming home. She knew the emptiness of Sisterton would not disappear with his arrival, but she was looking forward to all of the Sunderlands being together once more, or at least all the remaining ones. She knew he was quite unhappy about her marriage, but she knew that so long as she and Kayl did not discuss the matter too much their reunion could only be good. They had always been close and Em had always been able to confide in Kayl and Niclas both and she was excited to be having her brother back.

So when she heard a ship was spotted on the horizon she made haste to get to the port where he would be docking, seeing the ship as it drew closer and knowing it was the ship her brother captained. She had seen the ship enough times to recognize it and the sight set a smile to her face. She was glad she could come to the docks to meet him now instead of having to have an audience for him. Mostly it meant she was glad she was allowed to greet him just her, before Jasper would have to welcome him as well. She wanted to see her brother just them, without her betrothed who was responsible for the deaths of two family members.

As the ship drew ever closer she felt herself getting almost antsy with excitement, like a child all over again as she waited for the men to tie the ship down and waited for her brother to disembark, or at least become visible to her. She smiled at the crew members she knew, quick hellos to all of them, but not really caring to catch up with them for the moment. She knew she would likely chat with the crew members she knew better, but more than anything she wanted to see Kayl. She had seen him recently, of course, but recent events had also driven home to her how quickly her brothers could be taken from her.

She grinned as she saw the dark haired male who resembled her so much, her pace quickening as she moved toward him, her arms moving to wrap around Kayl. It was how reunions were supposed to go, not the broken meeting they had had in King’s Landing, with him angry and her crying. Circumstances had not changed much, but at least they were home together. “It is so good to see you well, brother,” she smiled as she held him in a hug for a few more moments before releasing him, her hands resting on his shoulders for a moment as she looked at him, smiling.

“Captain, land.” Kayl nodded his head and offered a smile. Ser Small left, leaving Kayl alone with his lover. He smiled and tucked some of her dark hair behind her ear before he said, “Nervous? Don’t be… they’ll love you. Come on deck when you’re ready, I must get everything ready for dock.” He leaned forward, pressing his lips to Leya’s and then grinning at her as he pulled back. He took one last moment to glance at his lover from the door before he closed the door behind him and started for the deck.

The Island of Three Sisters. While Sisterton was little more than a Pirates Cove at one point, Kayl liked to think that he and his family added a certain charm to their home, maybe made it seem more hospitable. At least enough that Jasper Arryn would consider having his royal wedding at their home. Thinking of the man Kayl’s fist clenched by his side and he his jaw tightened, grinding his teeth together as his eyes looked far away towards the shore. Away from Jasper for the weeks it was easy to forget the rather decent conversation that they had had. It was easy to think of him as the monster that he had built him up in his own head, instead of the human that he had had wine with. Seeing the male again, or at least being closer to him, would remind him of that humanity. Kayl had to remember his goals, had to remember what he wanted.

But first, he had to have his ship brought to dock.

His crew was well adjusted to this routine though, and they moved well without his orders. Kayl was distracted by the presence of his lover on the deck as she joined him that he didn’t notice his sister stepping on board as they finally settled to being docked. Had he been aware that his sister would have greeted them, he would have been more prepared to see her. As it was, he turned as he felt her hand on his shoulder. Blue eyes widened, and he grinned as he saw her matching pair.

Kayl opened his arms to her, laughing and hugging her tight, letting his face bury in her hair for a moment as he held her close to him. He felt her arms loosening, her hands resting on his shoulders and his hands upon her waist. He raised one hand to her cheek and he smiled and said, “My sister.” He shook his head and then turning slightly he looked to Leya and he grinned. He broke away from his sister, holding out one arm to Haleya to draw her closer and said, “May I present the Lady Emmelyne Sunderland, my sister. Em… this is the Lady Haleya Ostollis, of Pentos.” His eyes shifted back to Em, grinning at her as he confirmed silently that she was the same lover he had spoken of for years.

Kayl’s words were soothing, and the Pentoshi woman watched as her lover left the cabin they’d shared to help bring the ship into port. Her stomach was fluttering, and she attempted to busy herself to pass the time. However there was only so much she could do to comb her hair and ensure her appearance was acceptable. She wore the gown that her lover had helped choose for her, a light blue lace that covered all of the parts of her body deemed inappropriate to show off in public - at least in the Vale. At home and in Braavos there had been little concern of such things. Closing her eyes, Haleya took a deep breath before heading above deck to join Kayl.

Finding her place at his side, it was impossible to hide the smile on her lips as her eyes scanned the coast, drinking in the site of the Keep before them. It was not overly grand, but it was beautiful all the same. Kayl’s home.. She wanted to see every part of it and was quite certain she could remain there admiring it forever. It would be impractical, of course, and her attention was quickly drawn away anyhow as a young woman appeared on deck, instantly embracing the man at her side. Leya pursed her lips to keep her smile from widening further, her cheeks growing slightly warm as Kayl introduced her, though there was no visible flush. She did not need to hear an introduction to recognize the dark locks and light blue eyes that matched her lover’s. The young woman was unmistakable as his sister.

”It is a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, lady Emmelyne,” Haleya greeted her, offering a polite curtsey and bow of her head. Regardless of whether the woman was Kayl’s sister or not, she was still of noble birth and soon to be a Queen.

It was good to have Kayl with her again, to have all the remaining Sunderlands in Sisterton once more. It would only be for a bit, she knew, before Kayl had to leave and she would have to leave as well. It was likely Niclas might come with her and her new husband as well if he was offered a spot on the small council and maybe they would get Stuar to come as well. Stuar would need a new knight to squire for after all, though Em would likely to keep her brother somewhere else. She knew he was upset about the family changing its colors and moving away from the Daynes now and she wanted him to be happy with whoever he squired for next.

Those matters weren’t things she needed to think of at the moment. She would be able to discuss such matters with Niclas at some point she was sure and they could decide from there. With their mother’s input of course. If the woman would be staying here, Em wanted to make sure she would be as happy as she could given that two of her sons and her husband were all dead. But for now she hoped the whole family could enjoy the good things they had left, each other.

She smiled as Kayl introduced Haleya and her blue eyes went to the beautiful woman by her brother’s side. She watched as the woman curtsied and Em gave a small curtsy in response. “It is a joy to meet you, Lady Haleya,” Em smiled at the girl for a moment. She looked at the woman for a moment though before letting out a small giggle and moving forward to hug the woman. “It is silly for us to be so formal when I have heard so many good things about you from Kayl. Please, call me Em and I hope you can feel at home here,” Emmelyne smiled as she moved away from the hug , letting her arms fall in front of her, her left covering her right. “How was your journey here? I hope not too terribly long or difficult?” she asked, looking from her brother to the Pentoshi woman.

Kayl almost didn’t realize but he started to hold his breath as his sister and lover locked eyes. He watched them, for the first time realizing just how nervous he might have actually been with this initial meeting. The amount of information that Haleya had heard about his brother Niclas and sister Emmelyne over the years was unmeasurable, and the same went for what his two closest siblings had heard about Haleya. To his lover Kayl had exuded confidence that they would love her, and he still stood by that, if nothing else then because of the love that he bore for her. However, that didn’t mean that something could have gone wrong. What if they accused him of having hyped up his lover more than she actually was? What if they thought that he had not been seeing her true?

Or worse, what if Haleya could not love his siblings as he did?

From the very beginning he and Haleya had been very clear with each other that their families stood at the paramount of their affections. Their families would always come first, Kayl did not want this to pressure his lover, or to force her to love his family, but to accept him fully they would also need to be accepted. He knew he could never keep a lover that hated any of his family, or that his family in turn truly hated.

The two women curtseyed to each other, and Kayl easily grinned, the smile spreading from one side of his face to the other. He was glad as Emmelyne giggled, feeling the formalities there were a bit strange, not because he thought that they should be more familiar with each other, but it felt to him as though they knew each other so well already- with how much he had spoken of either of them. Luckily, Emmelyne stated so, opening her arms and welcoming the other girl fully.

Kayl nodded his head as Emmelyne asked about their journey and then said, “No longer then usual, well for me. Of course it’s new for Haleya, but... “ His eyes lingered on his lover, smirking at her and shooting a small wink at her from the corner of his eye as he teased, “I hope I was entertaining enough to keep her from finding it too…. irksome.”

“You will be sadden to find out that Kieran will not be attending your wedding, he had family business to attend to. I’m sure he would send his…” Kayl hesitated for a moment, making a face and then grinning as he thought about his ginger friend, ’Love’ He laughed and then shaking his head said, “Come, let us get off this blasted boat and see the others, I’m sure they’re all eager to meet Haleya. And mother- I haven’t yet seen her. How is she doing?” His face grew somber. Their brother’s deaths and their father’s death must have been torture on the woman, and now to host the man that was responsible? Kayl couldn’t imagine her pain.
